Celebrating Leadership and Looking Ahead at Univerus Baragar Systems

For more than four decades, Univerus Baragar Systems has built its reputation on innovation, strong relationships, and a commitment to helping school districts make informed decisions. From the early days in the 1980s, when Jason Curteis co-founded the company with his father, he has been a driving force behind its growth. What began with dot-matrix reports has evolved into a trusted suite of seven software and data service solutions used by more than 100 school districts across Canada and the United States.

Since the acquisition of Baragar Systems by Univerus in 2022, Jason has continued to guide the organization as Executive Vice President. His leadership helped us navigate new opportunities while staying true to the client partnerships that define our work. Jason is now transitioning into a new role as Principal Solutions Consultant, where he will focus on training, consulting, and supporting school districts on the challenges they face today. While this marks a step toward semi-retirement, Jason will continue to play a key role in our mission.

As we look toward the future, we are pleased to share that CJ Flack will be stepping into the role of Executive Vice President. CJ has been part of Univerus Baragar Systems since 2004 and has led the Production Team responsible for GIS, Data Warehouse, and Analytics. His leadership has ensured consistent accuracy in our annual data cycles and a reliable experience for clients who depend on timely information. In recent years, CJ has also supported Jason as Vice President and has gained a deep understanding of the strategic needs of our partners.

In his new role, CJ will focus on three priorities:

• Driving innovation across our software and data services

• Strengthening client partnerships and delivering exceptional support

• Leading our talented team as we continue helping districts plan effectively and make confident decisions
